VIRTUAL TRAINING: West Virginia University School of Dentistry's Certified Tobacco Treatment Training Program

West Virginia University School of Dentistry's Certified Tobacco Treatment Training Program is an online, self-paced course for educators and healthcare professionals. Participants work through four learning modules viewing recorded presentations with activities and a total of fifteen self-test exams that will well-prepare them for the 100-questions tobacco treatment specialist certification exam. Successful participants earn a Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) certificate and a minimum of 24 continuing education hours. Upon completion, you can tout your skills by displaying your badge on social media, performance evaluations and resumes to set yourself apart from other job candidates or colleagues.
Required Criteria:
• Minimum of an associate degree to enroll.
• Full participation in the WVU School of Dentistry's Certified Tobacco Treatment Program (24-hour course)
• Achievement of a minimum score of 80% on the WVU Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification Examination
• Proclamation of a tobacco-free lifestyle
Course Credit:
• Addiction Treatment Professionals and Licensed Professional Counselors: 24.5 contact hours
• Dentist/ Dental Hygienist: 24 ADA CERP credits
• Nurses: 28.8 contact hours
• Nurse Pharmacology: 6 contact hours
• Pharmacy: ACPE 24 contact hours, 2.4 CEU's
• Physicians: 24 AMA category 1 CME credits
• Respiratory Therapists: 24 contact hours (Provider Number BORCO91)
• Social Workers: 24 contact hours
